A short bioI was born and raised in city of Ventspils which is located on the west coast of a small North-eastern European country called Latvia.
At the age of around 15 I learned how to troubleshoot computer problems, get rid of malware and adware, and re-install operating systems. This was something I did for fun for friends and family. Later on I taught myself how to disassemble laptops and PCs to clean out dust, replace thermal compounds, and replace broken parts, i.e. laptop screens. This was, once again, something I did purely for fun and to gain experience. I never thought I could turn this into a career, and up until the point of graduating high school, I didn't know exactly what I want to do with my life - all I knew was that I want to continue studying.
Soon after graduating high school, I decided to travel to the UK and study there for 3 years, full-time. This was as a great opportunity to improve my English skills, meet great, new people, and explore the culture. While studying abroad had its ups and downs, the three years flew by very fast, and I don’t regret any of the time spent there. I graduated with a 2:1 in BSc Computing, and along with the diploma I also received awesome new experience and memories.
While I did enjoy modules, such as, object oriented programming, and databases, the thing I fell in love with the most during my time in university was web design and development, especially front-end. Now I've decided to focus my career on developing user and mobile-friendly, responsive web sites using the latest techniques and tools.
